rahab's story

Rahab lives with her mother, elder brothers and younger sister in Manjengo village near Nyeri. Her father died in 2004 of meningitis. She cares about education because she wants to be an accountant and wants to improve her family’s standard of living.

Her mother held a fundraiser for her and her brothers’ school fees, but it wasn’t enough, and she was sent home for non-payment repeatedly before GTL stepped in.

She likes studying Chemistry. When she is not studying, she likes table-tennis, swimming at the Green Hills Hotel pool in Nyeri, and socializing.

She thinks she is good at giving people advice. Her role model is her mother, who is hardworking and helps her cope with problems. Her house has 3 rooms, and the family gets their water from a nearby river. Someday she wants to visit the U.S.
