ElephantWhen people visit Kenya, they often go “on safari”, a Swahili word that means “journey”. Safaris take you to see wild animals in national parks and game reserves. Like in the United States, the national parks are very varied, but you can usually see animals like zebras, baboons, hippopotamuses, lions, giraffes, warthogs, buffalo, rhinoceroses and elephants. The “Big 5”, or the most famous Kenyan animals, can be seen in this habitat. These animals are the lion, leopard, buffalo, rhinoceros and elephant.
